To understand how PetAirapy UVC lights work, it is important to understand the science behind ultra-violet lights. UV is found in the electromagnetic spectrum between visible light and x-rays. UVC, or germicidal UV, has a wavelength of 254 nanometers which is considered short wave. At this wavelength, UVC lights alter or destroy the DNA of micro-organisms such as bacteria, mold spores, viruses and germs, inhibiting their ability to reproduce or survive.

Many of us know or have heard of UVC lights being used for detecting pet stains and other biological materials. What is less known is the different levels of UVC light. The strength of these handheld UVC lights is very low which allows them to be handled and used on just about anything. PetAirapy uses the strength and power of medical grade UVC lights to sanitize the air around you and disinfect the tools you use for your business. Some UVC lights operate at 3.10eV to 3.94eV (eV meaning energy per photon) while our lights operate at 4.43eV to 12.4eV. While these lights are more powerful, they are energy efficient and operate at about 120 volts through 227 volts to provide the best protection against irritants and diseases in the air.
